Real, in person Networking is possibly the single biggest casualty in the Vacation Rental industry conferences since Covid-19.
Of all the private messages and outstanding feedback I received after this year’s Vacation Rental World Summit virtual-only edition, the lack of one to one contact and peer groups networking is constantly mentioned. And how could it not be?
No matter how awesome the conference, nothing can replace the joy, and indeed necessity of speaking with other colleagues, learning how they manage tasks that you find difficult, sharing what you know works in your areas and what doesn’t, speaking openly about fears you have related to your business or real issues you're facing, and looking for answers from colleagues who’ve been there and have done that or are in the same boat and are looking for pals to find viable solutions even just to support one another.
You and I know that the upcoming months will be challenging for all of us at all levels; we don’t know how we'll emerge from the pandemic, once it’s over, or even when that will be; we don’t know if we will make it through to that day and in what shape we and our business will be in when that time comes, nor how the market as a whole will look at that time. Sure, we can make several predictions, and many can be pretty reliable, but the fact is that we have to get there, and between now and then there is a great deal of time we have to make the most of, and do so profitably.
So in the spirit of service to you as part of our Community of Vacation Rental fellows worldwide, and as a way to act proactively to safely navigate through the current situation we’re building a few very small, invite only Accountability Groups of VR Professionals (Property Managers, Hosts and industry Pros), that we will call VR PODS (Vacation Rental Professional Operators Discussing Strategy, developing skills and discovering solutions).
The goals are to:
- Put together same level/size Property Managers/Hosts to share common issues and come up with creative solutions you can implement during these months
- Build small Mastermind Groups of up to 8 members for PMs and 12 for Hosts to help you overcome the hurdles through invaluable networking
- Have each group led by an experienced external moderator (can be myself and someone else in the industry)
- Access one highly skilled, experienced and trusted industry expert per month for a specific one-to-one/one-to-few Q&A/consultation followed by your own focus group on the subject
- Share one topic/subject per month, picked up by you based on your actual current needs, and resulting from a short survey we will send you
- Get together with your exclusive Mastermind Peer Group once per month online for 90 Minutes for the next 6 months, to face issues, find solutions, held you accountable and measure your progress
